"The only true mountain desert in South Africa" The 7 Day Orange River rafting trip is the perfect break and outdoor trip for the adventure seekers that has time to explore and especially the Orange river ( Gariep River ). The Orange River (Gariep) originates from the Lesotho highlands up in the Drakensberg Mountains and meanders through South Africa and the amazing Richtersveldt Desert Reserve before it joins the icy Atlantic Ocean.
